Dear UB Community:
I am pleased to report that the search for the next dean of the Graduate School of Education is now underway. Dr. Marsha Lewis, dean of the School of Nursing, has agreed to serve as chair of the search committee. Under Dean Lewis’ leadership and with the support of the search committee, I have every confidence that the search for the next dean of the Graduate School of Education will be a great success.
The search committee includes faculty from the Graduate School of Education, as well as other UB and community members with relevant professional interests and expertise. I am grateful to the members of this committee for their willingness to assist UB in recruiting an outstanding individual for this important leadership position. In addition to Dean Lewis, the search committee includes:
A Graduate School of Education student will be added to the committee early in 2017.
We have secured the services of Isaacson, Miller to assist the search committee. Sean Farrell will be the principal from the firm working on this search. Mr. Farrell has extensive experience in supporting executive and decanal searches for some of the nation’s leading universities, including a recent search for dean of the School of Education at American University.
The search committee will begin their work in January and conclude by the end of the Spring semester. Throughout the coming months, Dean Lewis will update the university community regarding the committee’s progress. Information will also be available on the search website (no longer available).
Sincerely,
Charles F. Zukoski Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
