Vice Provost for Enrollment Management

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Connor as vice provost for enrollment management, effective immediately.  Mr. Connor has been serving in this leadership role in an acting/interim capacity since November 2023. Previously, he served as senior assistant dean for enrollment management in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS).

With over 20 years of experience in higher education at UB, Mr. Connor has served in leadership roles at the undergraduate and graduate levels, working closely with international and domestic students from both institutional and academic unit perspectives. As senior assistant dean for enrollment management in SEAS, he oversaw the development of new academic graduate programs, domestic and international recruitment, admissions, student professional development and alumni engagement. His innovative, data-driven strategic enrollment plans and processes were instrumental in growing graduate enrollment and enhancing diversity within the school. Prior to joining SEAS in 2016, Mr. Connor served in a variety of enrollment roles in graduate enrollment management services and undergraduate admissions.

Mr. Connor is a nationally recognized expert in graduate enrollment management, actively involved with many professional higher education-focused organizations. He currently serves as a member of the International English Language Testing Services (IELTS) Higher Education Advisory Council, the ETS Research Advisory Board, and as a mentor and trainer to the European Association for International Education.

He has received numerous awards and honors recognizing his professional contributions including the IELTS Best Practices Award in International Enrollment Management, National Association for Graduate Enrollment Management Promotion of Excellence and Building Bridges awards, and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award in Excellence in Professional Service.

Mr. Connor holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in communication and psychology from the University at Buffalo. For more details on this appointment, please view the full announcement here.
