Molly Maloney, MLS, pharmacy liaison librarian, has been elected Chair-elect of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Drug Information and Library Science Section.
AACP's Drug Information and Library Science Section supports pharmacists, librarians and professionals involved in pharmacy education and practice by focusing on drug information, literature evaluation, evidence-based medicine, informatics, scholarly communication and publishing, teaching technologies and methods, and information and data literacy.
Maloney will serve a 3-year term, during which she will chair the Programming and Nominating Committees, lead Executive Committee meetings and develop charges for the section.
"I am thrilled to serve the AACP Drug Information and Library Science Section," says Maloney. "Since becoming the Pharmacy Liaison Librarian at UB, this section has been a vital community for networking and my professional growth. It is a place for pharmacists and librarians to build strong collaborations and share expertise with the mutual goal of improving drug information instruction and services."
"It is my honor to repay the support I have received from this section through leadership and service," Maloney adds. "In the next three years, I hope to facilitate deep conversations on emerging technologies and challenges faced by those involved in drug information instruction and services to bolster teaching, learning, research and practice."
The mission of AACP is to lead and partner with its members in advancing pharmacy education, research, scholarship, practice and service to improve health for all.
