Join the nearly 3,000 UB undergraduates who work on campus.
- Increase your campus engagement/awareness
- Make a personal connection to UB
- Earn money or academic credit
- Students working on-campus part-time (less than 16 hours a week) tend to have a higher GPA, according to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
- On-campus employment often leads to greater integration into the university.
- Working on campus is convenient. You don’t need a car and you can schedule shifts around your class schedule.
Finding Your On-Campus Job
When to Apply
- Positions are posted on the Career Design Center (Bullseye powered by Handshake) website on a rolling basis throughout the year, with the majority of positions being posted in the fall semester. Simply use the "on campus employment" filter to narrow your search.
- New students: once you have paid your admissions deposit, a Bullseye powered by Handshake account will automatically be created for you with your UBITName by the Career Design Center. Login using your UBITName to begin your search process.

Check out the different ways you can work on campus:
- Student Assistant: Open to any eligible* student.
- Work Study: For U.S. citizens and permanent residents only. Students must receive financial aid indicating work study eligibility to be considered for these positions.
- Graduate/Research/Teaching Assistants: Typically reserved for eligible* graduate/doctoral students and may or may not relate to the area of study. These positions are limited in number and are very competitive.
- Internship: Students gain practical experience, sometimes with pay or while earning academic credit.
