Faculty, instructors and staff play an integral role in creating a welcoming and inclusive campus for students with disabilities. Here are a few ways you can help ensure that all academic and campus facilities and programs are accessible.
We encourage you to inform students of their rights, and provide information on how to contact Accessibility Resources to request reasonable accommodations. The simplest way to do so is to include a statement on the course syllabus. Please feel free to use the following sample statement on your syllabus:
If you know a student who may benefit from accommodations, you may refer them to Accessibility Resources on a confidential basis. Please note that students with disabilities are entitled to privacy with respect to their disabilities. We encourage you to read the Reasonable Accommodation Policy.
