  • NASA taps UB researchers’ team to advance satellite observation of climate change
    5/17/24

    Several UB researchers have been sleected by NASA to contribute to a salletite-based mission that will help better our understanding of climate change. This mission - happening sometime between 2030-2032 - will provide essential real-time data in understanding greenhouse gases and changes in ice and glaciers around the world.

  • Protecting our ocean one treaty at a time
    5/15/24

    Elizabeth Kim, three time University at Buffalo alumna, aims to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030 through a treaty she helped negotiate with her role at the U.S. Department of State. Kim is dedicated to preserving the health and well-being of Earth for future generations. 

  • UB’s Carbon Reduction Challenge returns with new ways to reduce – and count — WNY companies’ emissions
    5/14/24

    After a two-year hiatus, the Carbon Reduction Challenge returned this semester to connect students with organizations around WNY, offering insight and problem-solving skills to provide solutions as to how these companies can reduce their overall carbon footprint. 

  • Showing up for the City of Good Neighbors
    5/9/24

    As part of its 90th anniversary celebration, the School of Social Work hit the streets to partake in a day of community service on Buffalo's East Side. In tadnem with the City of Buffalo's Operation Clean Sweep initiative, volunteers provided residents with trash cleanup while also delivering certain resources to residents, including dental supplies, children’s books, cooling towels, seed packets and more.
