UB added
another significant page to its football history Saturday afternoon
when it rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Army, 26-19,
before 26,883 fans in Michie Stadium.
The game
wasn't decided until the final play, when Army quarterback Curtis Zervic's
pass was batted away in the end zone by UB's Mark Graham, giving the
Bulls their second road win of the season.

Lambert of the football team made a key interception with
less than a minute remaining to preserve UB's 26-19 win at Army.
The defensive back made six tackles and broke up an Army two-point
conversion pass that could have tied the game in the third quarter.
Abby
Delia of the women's swim team won two individual events and
was part of both of UB's winning relay squads in the Bulls' 167-133
victory at St. Bonaventure. Delia took the 100 backstroke in 59.35
and the 100 freestyle in 54.00. She also was on the winning 400
medley relay (4:00.47) and 200 freestyle relay (1:39.86) teams.

Darcel Williams led UB with a game-high 20 points, but the Bulls dropped
a 90-88 decision to the Converse All-Stars on Sunday afternoon in Alumni
Arena.
The Bulls
will open the 2001-02 season on the road at Niagara University on Monday
and at Chicago State on Wednesday before returning home to host Canisius
at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 in Alumni Arena.

Junior
Rachel Martin scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and sophomore
Jessica Kochendorfer added 12 points and a game-high 16 boards to lead
UB to a 73-60 win over Syracuse Action in Alumni Arena.
The Bulls
will open the 2001-02 regular season against Michigan State tomorrow
in the Spartan Chevrolet Classic. Their first home game of the season
will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Niagara.

UB dropped
a heartbreaker to Bowling Green in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American
Conference Tournament in Akron, OH, on Friday. Bowling Green's Jon Hundley
scored an unassisted goal at the 121:33 mark during third overtime to
break a 0-0 tie and give the Falcons the victory.

UB was
defeated by Miami, 7-0, in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament.
The Bulls, who hadn't played a game since their regular-season finale
Oct. 24, played to a 0-0 tie at the half before the RedHawks erupted
for seven second-half goals.

UB saw
another attempt at its first MAC victory of the season spoiled when
the visiting Kent State Golden Flashes came back from a 2-1 deficit
to win in five games in Alumni Arena. Game scores were 30-25, 31-33,
28-30, 30-27 and 15-6.
On Saturday,
the Bulls scored a 30-27 win in game one before dropping three straight
games to the visiting Akron Zips, 30-28, 30-22, 30-24.

St. Bonaventure 133
UB defeated
local rival St. Bonaventure, 167-133, Friday night in the Reilly Center
Pool. It was the second consecutive win by the Bulls in the series with
the Bonnies.

12th of 36 at NCAA Regionals
Women 15th of 34 at NCAA Regionals
The men's
and women's cross-country squads completed their seasons at the NCAA
Northeast Regional Meet in Boston on Saturday. The Bulls men placed
12th overall in a 36-team field. The UB women took 15th of 34 teams.
Wrestling
UB finishes
3rd of 9 at Oklahoma Gold Classic
Competing
in the first event of the 2001-02 season, UB placed third at the Oklahoma
Gold Classic in Brockport. The Bulls racked up 99.5 pointsonly 3.5
back of second-place Cleveland Stateto grab third in the field of nine
teams.

UB wins
two races at Frostbite Regatta
UB completed
the fall crew season by winning two races at Philadelphia's Frostbite
Regatta on Saturday. The Novice 4 squad of Chrissy Olsen, Kasey Hansen,
LaVoya Reddish and Michelle Schwach, with coxswain Randi Prusak, was
the fastest of 10 boats, finishing in 9:21. The Varsity 4 team of Molly
Beck, Victoria Kolomiets, Courtney Kane and Melissa Ward, with coxswain
Katie Johnson, won its race in 9:39.
