The
Eager Artists theater group from Durbin, South Africa, performed in
the home of Aenid Wright on Sept. 27 as part of The Living Room Project.

Wright
prepares a meal of African delicacies and traditional soul food for
the cast and spectators to share after the performance. |

Rob
Falgiano, assistant director of the Center for the Arts, which sponsored
the group's four-week visit to Buffalo and UB, welcomes the spectators.
|
|
The
performance touched on domestic violence, loss of a child, prejudice
and personal strength. In between the dramatic moments, the four women-Winile
Majozi, Cleopatra Masinga, Manu Ndlovu and Charmaine Mpofu, sang traditional
African songs and even the American pop song, "Sisters are Doin' it
for Themselves." |
