Don't miss your chance to (virtually) meet recruiters looking to hire candidates like you with different skills and backgrounds to fill their jobs and internships.
This is your moment. The below ✔️checklist✔️ will help you maximize your opportunity before, during, and after the 2024 Hiring Summit!
1. Bookmark - Registration officially opens on February 21 at 12 p.m. Before then, be sure to bookmark the fair to stay up-to-date!
⚠️ Once registered for the virtual Hiring Summit, you'll need to sign up for sessions. Signing up for sessions ensures you'll meet with employers of interest. We strongly suggest that you register for sessions right away, as each employer has a limited number of spots! 2. Register for one of the below Hiring Summit prep events:
- Resume Writing for Jobs + Internships Skillshop - February 6, 4 - 5 p.m. | SU 330 Pride & Tradition Room
- Resume Writing for Jobs + Internships Skillshop - February 16, 4 - 5 p.m | Virtual
- Say Cheese! Pop-Up - March 26, 12 - 4 p.m. | 259 Capen Hall (Studio A)
- Making the Most of the Job + Internship Fair Skillshop - March 26, 4 - 5 p.m. | SU 330 Pride & Tradition Room
- Making the Most of the Job + Internship Fair Skillshop - March 27, 4 - 5 p.m. | Virtual
3. Recharge your resume. Get your resume reviewed 24/7 using VMock and add it to your Bullseye powered by Handshake profile.
4. Be ready to talk about yourself. Practice your talking points about your career interests and your experiences using Big Interview, and/or stop by our Elevator Pitch Pop-Up on March 14!
5. Ensure you have the proper setup to support both audio and video for virtual sessions!
6. Dress Professionally: Even though this fair is virtual, you will still want to make a good first impression and show that you mean business!
7. Find a quiet spot and a neutral background: Limit any potential distractions and keep the recruiter's eye focused on you!
8. Show up on time: Show that you are dependable and respectful of the employer's time.
9. Maintain proper eye contact and practice active listening: Similar to in-person fairs, smile and nod occasionally while listening and ask questions when necessary.
10. Follow-up. Send each recruiter you met with virtually a nice thank you email.

8. Follow-up. Send each recruiter you’ve met with a nice thank you email.
Employer booth check-in: Each employer will have a QR code displayed at their booth. Scan the QR code of any employer that you are interested in so you can show interest in the employer and you will receive your custom list 24-hours after the hiring summit.
