UB Course Evaluations (UBCE) is the university-wide tool for evaluating academic courses at the university. Results from core and custom questions help faculty review courses and identify changes to promote increased student learning. To access your course evaluation dashboard, click here.
UB Learns provides faculty an online environment to create, deliver and manage their course content, as well as monitor participation and assess performance among learners. UB Learns can be accessed here.
Institutional Analytics is powered by UB's Oracle BI, Tableau and Data Cookbook Services, SharePoint, UBfs and MS-SQL. OIA sponsors a Tableau User Group (UB TUG), resources for business intelligence, Tableau, visual analytics, training and continuing education opportunities, as well as analytics applications services.
The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) survey of faculty career satisfaction is a national, research-based initiative, operated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, that is designed to improve faculty recruitment, retention and work/life quality. The COACHE survey assesses faculty views on an important range of university policies, practices, and working conditions, in order to provide our institution with valuable feedback and benchmarking data that can be broken down by gender, race and disciplinary area. The Office of Wellness and Work Life Balance in Human Resources provides consultation, best-place-to-work assessment and local workplace climate assessment to gather information to design custom departmental workplace climate surveys and provide supervisors and managers with advisement and recommendations to improve workplace climate.
The UB Factbook is an intensive reporting effort spanning the depth and breadth of university operations. Its goal is to provide an interactive compendium of frequently requested official information about the institution, using definitions developed and set by UB’s data governance process.

The CGS PhD Career Pathways surveys are designed to: Be administered by graduate schools or graduate programs; Capture the career aspirations and program experiences of 2nd and 5th-year PhD students; Capture snapshots of PhD alumni career progression at three, eight, and fifteen years since earning a doctorate in STEM (including social sciences) and humanities fields; Complement existing federal datasets such as the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) and Survey of Doctorate Recipients (SDR) as well as those assembled by the Association of American Universities Data Exchange (AAUDE), and individual institutions; and Inform career services, professional development opportunities, and mentoring at individual graduate school and doctoral program levels.
The Student Success Collaborative (SSC) is a comprehensive, Early Alert platform from EAB. SSC Campus combines technology, research and predictive analytics to help UB improve students’ retention and graduation.

This is the first UBIT survey specifically designed to delve into the specific technology needs and preferences of University at Buffalo faculty. As such, it provides an important baseline for the future. It also paves the way for better understanding today, as UBIT redoubles its efforts to engage faculty.
Each fall semester, UBIT launches a broad IT experience survey that assesses student technology usage, satisfaction with IT services, and other topical questions. Frequencies are the simple tabulation tables for each survey. Reports are data analyses with longitudinal comparisons.
