This day brings together current Liberty Partnerships Program students, parents and staff to meet, advocate and create awareness for our program initiatives and successes to our representatives in the New York State Assembly and the New York State Senate.
This annual statewide summit brings together students from grades 9–12; community, education, business and industry stakeholders, and higher education institutions to develop strategies that prepare students for post-secondary education and the workforce. The objectives of the summit are to improve strategies and resources for strengthening Pre-K–20 education outcomes and to improve strategies for addressing New York’s current and future workforce. The summit links the healthy development of youth as an integral part of the long-term strategy for growing New York State’s economy and the creation of deliberate pathways to higher education, to employing graduates in high-need careers in New York State.
Partnering with Say Yes to Education and the Buffalo Public Schools, the academy provides community outreach efforts and events to engage our school’s families in college readiness activities, clean-a-thons and promotes reading at home through literacy circles and book raffles. The academy is held at East Community High School and the Marva J. Daniel Futures Preparatory School.
