Post-Migration: Content Placeholders

Migrated content contains placeholder pages (STUBs) for tools or question types that are unavailable in Brightspace or for items that need to be reviewed or reconfigured. This page provides more information about placeholders.

For more information about reviewing your migrated content, see Cleaning up Your Copied Course in Brightspace.

About Migrated Course Content

Credit-Bearing Courses

Instructors should consider content migrated from credit-bearing courses as a starting point for future courses. Instructors can review and make changes to the migrated content and then copy the desired content to course shells for upcoming semesters.

Administrative Courses

Administrative courses with migrated content are the course shells that course owners will use moving forward. Course owners decide when to start using the courses in Brightspace.

Achievements

Journals

Brightspace does not have a journals tool, but instructors can recreate the functionality by creating single-member groups (Number of Users per group set to one) and adding a group discussion area for each group.

Panopto

To avoid permission issues for student viewers, Panopto videos need to be added back into courses.
