Migrated content contains placeholder pages (STUBs) for tools or question types that are unavailable in Brightspace or for items that need to be reviewed or reconfigured. This page provides more information about placeholders.
For more information about reviewing your migrated content, see Cleaning up Your Copied Course in Brightspace.
Credit-Bearing Courses
Instructors should consider content migrated from credit-bearing courses as a starting point for future courses. Instructors can review and make changes to the migrated content and then copy the desired content to course shells for upcoming semesters.
Administrative Courses
Administrative courses with migrated content are the course shells that course owners will use moving forward. Course owners decide when to start using the courses in Brightspace.
Brightspace's Awards tool allows instructors to create badges and certificates.
Brightspace does not have a journals tool, but instructors can recreate the functionality by creating single-member groups (Number of Users per group set to one) and adding a group discussion area for each group.
To avoid permission issues for student viewers, Panopto videos need to be added back into courses.
REQUIRED: Provision Your Course to Use Panopto
Before you can use Panopto in your course, you must provision the tool. Provisioning Panopto will add an External Learning Tool folder named Panopto Content in a module.
To hide the Panopto Content folder from students, click the chevron icon next to Panopto Content and select Hide from Users.
Hot Spot, Jumbled Sentence and Quiz Bowl questions are not available in Brightspace at this time. Place holders have been added to make it easier for instructors oo comparre the same quiz in Blackboard.
Settings for LockDown Browser are not applied to migrated quizzes, so instructors will need to add them back.
Add Zoom as an External Learning Tool to a course. When students select the link, they will see any meetings scheduled in Zoom through Brightspace as well as any cloud recordings for the course. Instructors can also use this link to schedule new meetings.
