Dear University Community:
It is my great pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. A. Scott Weber as Vice President for Student Life effective January 3, 2017.
An exemplary scholar and teacher throughout his career at UB, Scott quickly established himself as an outstanding leader and innovator. I named Scott as vice provost and dean of undergraduate education in 2010 during my tenure as Provost and he was later promoted by Provost Zukoski to Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.
Charged with enhancing the overall student experience for undergraduate and graduate students, Scott’s understanding of our academic enterprise will be greatly beneficial with regard to student life as he will be able to work towards a more integrated experience between our educational and extramural activities on campus.
Through his leadership and vision as a university administrator, Scott has demonstrated a deep commitment to UB and to ensuring that we provide all of our students with experiences that will enrich their education and add value and meaning to their lives after they graduate.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank our Vice President for Finance and Administration, Laura Hubbard, who has been serving as the interim Vice President for University Life and Services since July.
