It is my great pleasure to announce the appointment of Heath V. Tuttle, PhD, as vice president and chief information officer, effective August 1.
Heath’s appointment is the culmination of an extensive national search launched in January. From a pool of highly qualified candidates, he emerged as an ideal fit for this important university role. Heath will be joining us from the University of Nebraska, where he serves as associate vice president for information technology for the NU system and chief information officer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
A strategic leader with extensive experience in higher education IT, Heath has a demonstrated record of aligning diverse technology objectives into a cohesive vision focused on digital transformation, operational excellence, collaboration and accessibility. I am confident that he will provide exemplary leadership that builds upon our robust technology environment, elevates our IT practices and advances our university priorities and goals.
I would also like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank E. Bruce Pitman for serving as interim vice president and chief information officer. Allow me to extend my appreciation as well to Dean Iyer and the members of the search committee for their service, which was vital to the successful outcome of this search.
For more details about Heath’s appointment, including information about his background and accomplishments, I invite you to read our full announcement.
I am delighted that Heath is joining UB, and I look forward to working with him as a member of my senior leadership team. Please join me in welcoming him to our university community.
