Two year running medians of IRB review times for the three types of protocol reviews: Full Committee, Exempt, and Expedited. Review time is defined as the time in days from submission of the protocol to final IRB approval. Many factors impact review times. For comparison, the national reported median is shown (horizontal red line).
The reported times are median times from submission of a protocol to full approval. These times include both the time of IRB review and the time when the investigator is providing clarifications. Review times may be reduced by promptly responding to IRB requests for information.
