CliftonStrengths Workshops

A sociology class, led by Julia Schoonover, is held in a newly renovated room, 120 Clemens Hall in September 2019.

Discover what makes you uniquely powerful and unlock your full potential with the CliftonStrengths Assessment and workshops.

What is CliftonStrengths?

CliftonStrengths is a personal development tool that helps you identify your unique talents and strengths. Based on decades of research, it focuses on the idea that you are most successful when you build on what you do naturally rather than trying to fix your weaknesses. By understanding your top strengths, you can enhance your performance, improve relationships, and achieve greater fulfillment in both personal and professional settings.

The Strengths Program at UB is designed to help you identify and develop your natural talents, transforming them into strengths that drive success in academics, careers, and personal growth. By focusing on what you do best, you’ll gain deeper self-awareness, build confidence, and develop strategies to leverage your abilities for academic success and career readiness.

How Does It Work?

Our Strengths workshops are for students and student groups interested in discovering their unique talents and learning how to leverage them for success. These interactive sessions help participants identify their top strengths, empowering them to collaborate more effectively and build on what they do best. We’ve facilitated workshops for student organizations, classes, and individuals eager to unlock their potential and enhance their personal and professional growth.

UB faculty and staff can request similar workshops through Organizational Development and Training.

How to Request a Program

Step 1. Plan Ahead

  • All programs require at least two weeks advance notice
  • Student groups should have at least 10 attendees and be available for at least one hour for a full workshop
  • Individual students can schedule a debrief with a certified Student Engagement staff member to review results (meetings typically last an hour)

Step 2: Fill Out the Request Form Below

Step 3. We Will Contact You to Confirm

  • When your request is received, we will contact you to coordinate details and confirm the time, date, and location for your program. Your request is not confirmed until you are contacted by one of our staff members.

Additional Information

After the workshop or meeting time has been confirmed, participants will receive a one-time-use code to take the assessment. These codes are free for UB students.

One of our trained staff members will then facilitate the program for you or your group, breaking down the meaning behind the assessments and discussing how this knowledge can be used to build and lead effective teams.
