The Vice President for Research and Economic Development advances the research enterprise at UB. Its many offices provide a supportive infrastructure for scholarship and creative activities, as well as advocating on behalf of researchers.

UB’s Business and Entrepreneur Partnership office is helping create a seamless and nurturing entrepreneurial ecosystem in Western New York through licensed technology, incubation facilities and programs, educational workshops and presentations, mentoring, seed grant funding when partnered with university faculty, and opportunities to meet with and pitch to investors.

The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) provides an individualized and interactive education in entrepreneurship. Designed by entrepreneurs and for entrepreneurs, the CEL is based on proven principles, centered on best and next practices, and backed by the thought leadership of the UB School of Management.

FuzeHub provides New York State manufacturers with guided access to an extensive network of industry experts, programs and assets to solve productivity, commercialization, research and development issues, and other challenges to growth.

The University Economic Development Association (UEDA) membership organization represents higher education, private sector and community economic development stakeholders. UEDA works to expand economic opportunity in communities by leveraging research, community resources, campus planning, talent development, and technology commercialization.

Launch NY is a venture development organization whose mission is to identify, support and invest in high-growth, high-impact companies and catalyze the entrepreneurial culture to drive job and wealth creation in the 27 westernmost counties of Upstate New York.

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is a privately-funded economic development organization and the largest regional chamber of commerce in Western New York. They are comprised of some of the most established regional employers, representing a quarter of a million member employees – including dozens of major investors.

The Buffalo Niagara Manufacturing Alliance (BNMA) is the largest non-profit organization representing manufacturers in the Buffalo Niagara region.

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce is aimed at providing Chautauqua County with strong and effective regional leadership and representation, to unify and promote interests of the county.

MxD is where innovative manufacturers go to forge their futures. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense, MxD equips factories with the digital tools and expertise they need to begin building every part better than the last. As a result, our more than 300 partners increase their productivity and win more business.
