UB Pharmacy presents research and scholarship at 2024 ACCP Annual Meeting

On October 12-15, faculty, residents, fellows and students from the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) attended the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ, to share our school’s research and scholarship with the national clinical pharmacy community.

The ACCP Annual Meeting features an array of educational sessions and networking opportunities with clinical pharmacy leaders from across the country. Attendees gain access to the latest information affecting clinical practice and research and discuss important policy issues facing the profession of clinical pharmacy.

Nearly 25 SPPS faculty, residents, fellows and students attended this year’s meeting where they presented 12 research posters, 5 presentations and celebrated several SPPS faculty awards and recognitions as well as appointments within ACCP’s Practice and Research Networks (PRNs).

New appointments

Our SPPS faculty members were appointed to the following new positions in ACCP’s PRNs:

  • Nicole Albanese, PharmD, assistant dean, Student Success and Engagement and clinical associate professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice: inducted as chair-elect, ACCP Endocrine and Metabolism PRN.
  • Collin Clark, PharmD, clinical assistant professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice: inducted as chair, ACCP Geriatrics PRN.

Awards and recognitions

SPPS celebrated the following awards and recognitions at ACCP:

  • Nicholas Fusco, PharmD, clinical professor and division head, Division of Education and Teaching Innovation, Department of Pharmacy Practice: honored with the Outstanding Practitioner Award for ACCP’s Pediatrics PRN.
  • Nicole Cieri-Hutcherson, PharmD, assistant director, Experiential Education and clinical associate professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice: recognized and inducted as a Fellow of ACCP.
  • Nicole Albanese, PharmD: recognized and inducted as a Fellow of ACCP.
  • Collin Clark, PharmD: recognized as a 2024 Outstanding Reviewer for ACCP’s Pharmacotherapy Journal. This is the second year in a row an SPPS faculty member has been recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer for ACCP’s Pharmacotherapy Journal.
