UBIT SECURITY ALERT, 3/29/2018
UB Login Phish - Do not click "Your University of Buffalo Account Certificate expired..."
An email coming from "University of Buffalo Web Services" claims that your "account certificate" has expired and you need to click a link to renew. The link that you are supposed to click on attempts to steal your UBIT credentials.
Red flags: How you can tell it is a fake
- Notice: grammar and threatening language.
- Hovering over URL shows it is not a buffalo.edu site
I already clicked the links. What should I do?
- Contact the UBIT Help Center immediately at 716-645-3542 / http://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/help
- If you entered your password, change it immediately - go to Changing Your Password.
- If clicked on the link, but did not enter your password, please check that your computer security or anti virus program is on and up to date.
I did not click on the links. What should I do?
Delete the email.
