UBIT SECURITY ALERT, 3/4/2018
UB VPN Login Phish - Do not click "Information Technology Services"
An email coming from "BUFFALO" claims that you need to click a button to re-activate your SSL VPN account. The link that you are supposed to click on to retrieve this message attempts to steal your UBIT credentials.
Red flags: How you can tell it is a fake
- Notice the email "From" address is not a buffalo.edu address
- Hovering over URL shows it is not a buffalo.edu site
I already clicked the links. What should I do?
- Contact the UBIT Help Center immediately at 716-645-3542 / http://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/help
- If you entered your password, change it immediately - go to Changing Your Password.
- If clicked on the link, but did not enter your password, please check that your computer security or anti virus program is on and up to date.
I did not click on the links. What should I do?
Delete the email.
