Read&Write

Read&Write is Texthelp's text-to-speech software that provides help with reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments and proofing written work.

Ways to use

Download

  1. In a web browser, go to https://www.texthelp.com/products/read-and-write-education/
  2. Click Try Read&Write
  3. Choose your opeating system:
    • Windows: Click Windows US EN
    • Mac: Click Mac
  4. The installer will download. After the installer downloads:
    • Windows: Open/run the installer
    • Mac: Drag the installer from your Downloads folder to your Applications folder in Finder
  5. Click yes when asked if you'd like to allow TextHelp to make changes to your device
  6. Click Accept and Install
  7.  After the installation is complete, open Read&Write using the icon on your Desktop - the icon will look like a purple puzzle piece
  8.  When asked to sign in, choose Sign in with Microsoft and enter your complete @buffalo.edu email address
  9.  You will be redirected to a UBIT sign in page - sign in with your UB email and password, and authenticate with Duo two-step verification
  10.  You're all set to begin using Read&Write!
