Korea Artist in Residence Program

The Asia Research Institute’s Korea Artist in Residence Program gives UB students and faculty a broader and deeper understanding of contemporary and traditional forms of Korean visual and performing arts and presents Korean visual and performing arts in local schools.

Although the types of presentations vary depending on the art form, artists engage in the following activities while they are in Buffalo:

  1. Conduct workshops with UB students and faculty to introduce them to the artist’s techniques, materials, inspiration, and other components of the artist’s work
  2. Present guest lectures or lecture/demonstrations in classes at UB
  3. Present lectures as part of the ARI AsiaTalks lecture series
  4. Present their work to classes or groups of students in local schools
  5. Present a recital in conjunction with the UB Department of Music
