Throughout your time in Honors, you will be encouraged to engage in rigorous coursework within and outside your major and make the most of experiential learning like research, internships and study abroad.

Most first-year Honors scholars will take an Honors-only section of a UB Seminar, the entryway to your UB education within the Honors College. Your personal Honors advisor will help add this seminar to your schedule.

This one-credit course, which counts toward your Honors Experiences, gives you information and insight about Buffalo, UB and the Honors College. Your personal Honors advisor will help add the Colloquium to your schedule.

Honors Experiences enrich your undergraduate education by encouraging you to extend your learning inside and outside the traditional classroom setting.

Throughout UB, you’ll find countless ways to get hands-on learning, apply your skills, build your network and prepare for a successful career. 

Honors staff advisors and peer mentors can help you plan your schedule, discover opportunities throughout UB, succeed in your classes and achieve your goals.

The Honors College hosts an annual graduation celebration in May. This ceremony is in addition to commencement ceremonies for each college or school.
