This scholarship was created in memory of Teresa A “Teri” Miller, author, legal scholar, educator, and administrator who passed away in August 2021. As a law professor at the University at Buffalo, Miller was deeply involved with prison and immigration law and continuing commitment to diversity and social justice initiatives.
This scholarship will go to a full-time undergraduate Junior or Senior who values education, community service, and social justice. This year’s award will be $500.00.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Participation is open to all students regardless of any characteristic protected by law, including race, color, national origin, sex/gender, age, and/or disability.
- Full-time Junior or Senior UB student.
- Minimum 3.3 undergraduate GPA.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Evidence of community/university service.
- Demonstration of sound character and leadership qualities.
- All disciplines eligible to apply.
Application Requirements:
- ALL materials must be typed.
- Completed application.
- Unofficial transcript.
- Resume.
- Two letters of recommendation (1) Faculty/Staff and (1) Employer.
- A well written essay addressing the need for Social Justice activities while in college.
