The Community & Civic Engagement Micro-Credential will help students become active citizens working toward positive social change in our ever-changing world. Through various educational opportunities, students will develop a strong foundation of knowledge that will prepare them to be leaders in our local, national, and global communities.
Students will turn their knowledge into action through various service-learning experiences in the local community that will connect theory to practice. This certificate seeks to provide students with the knowledge, hands-on experience, and critical thinking skills needed to be active citizens during their time at UB and beyond.
Students who complete both digital badges will earn the Community & Civic Engagement Micro-Credential, which recognizes completion of the full program.
Our Conscientious Community Member Digital Badge is one of the digital badges in the Community & Civic Engagement Micro-Credential. This digital badge is open to undergraduate and graduate students of any major and is presented as a not-for-credit and hybrid learning experience.
The first step in obtaining the Conscientious Community Member Digital Badge is meeting with staff member on the Community & Civic Engagement team in Student Engagement who will walk you through the program requirements and get you registered for the micro-credential.
To earn this digital badge, you must complete these education and service requirements:
