Learning Outcomes

  • Possess basic understanding of:
    • History and progression of U.S. power and energy utilities, and their impact on society
    • Components of a modern electric power system, essential electric power instruments and equipment, and interactions between energy use and the environment
    • Properties of natural gas, its distribution, day-to-day/field activities, and liquid natural gas production and usage
    • Standard energy industry safety practices and OSHA regulations
    • U.S. power industry regulations
  • Create a roadmap for achieving personal goals related to an energy industry profession

Intended Audience

Individuals considering a career in the industry – whether a hands-on utility technician or utility worker position, or interested in emerging green energy solutions – and those already working in the industry who have less than three years of experience and have not completed similar training

  • High school diploma
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics

Cost

There is no charge to “audit” the series. The fee to gain complete access and the opportunity to earn a verified certificate is $49 per month.
