Building Your Strategy

Successful social media accounts begin with a strong strategy.

As you build yours may want to consider:

  • How social media will fit into your marketing strategy
  • Whether (and where) your audience expects to find your content on social media
  • Whether there is already a UB account devoted to providing similar content
    • Partnering with an existing account, rather than creating a new one, may help you reach more people with less effort by leveraging their established follower base
  • Whether you have both the content and time to maintain a channel
  • Working closely with your unit’s Social Media Lead as you build your strategy. They will be accountable for anything that happens on your social media accounts
