This fund is designed to help recruit and retain outstanding students who bring diversity to their class and to the medical school.
The Seal the Deal Endowment Fund is used to enable top students to say “yes” to UB when it might not otherwise be possible, or to stay in school when outside obligations might prevent them from staying through to graduation. The fund was established by Raymond P. Dannenhoffer, Ph.D., '87, M.A., '82.
Specifically, this fund helps UB recruit and retain students in situations where attending UB might otherwise be difficult. For example, the fund can be used for students who have a financial obligation to support a family member, or need assistance paying for childcare.
By providing financial assistance, the fund assists in recruiting and retaining outstanding students, including minority students, those who have immigrated to the United States or are children of immigrants, those who are first in their family to attend college and medical school, as well as economically challenged and disadvantaged students from underserved areas. In this way, the fund helps bring diversity to their class and to the School as a whole.
