Academic Year Internship

Paid research and internships are an integral part of CSTEP, which seeks to introduce undergraduate students to the culture of research and rigors of graduate study. The Academic Year Internship exposes selected students to research and career opportunities in their major. During the academic year, interns work for 12 weeks per semester under a faculty research mentor or off-campus internship supervisor. Students are assigned to a research project, at the discretion of the supervisor. Students are awarded a fellowship stipend for up to 10 hours per week.

Purpose

Our Academic Year Internship program is designed to strengthen CSTEP interns’ research skills, and enhance the competitiveness of talented students pursuing STEM and the licensed allied health professions. Interns will broaden knowledge, gain career and research experience and be better equipped to gain admission into graduate programs. The program aims to broaden participation and address the critical shortage of underrepresented students in STEM and the licensed professions i.e (pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, law, social work, nursing, counseling, psychology, architecture, OT/PT and health related fields).
