The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) manages and assists with the following UB policies:
Includes the procedure through which EDI investigates reports of discrimination, and protections for parties to an investigation.
Describes the procedures through which applicants, students and employees may obtain disability-related accommodations.
Provides for reasonable accommodations when needed due to a student or employee's religion.
Outlines the requirements for conducting Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) searches.
Categorizes circumstances where a full EEO search is not required.
Explains the obligations of all university units to produce and maintain websites that are accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities.
Explains the obligations of faculty and staff to act appropriately toward children and to take action when a child's safety is at risk.
Describes reporting rights and options for victims of sexual assault, including resources for support, protection and accommodations, and the rights of the parties to the student conduct process.
UB faculty, staff and students can use a preferred or chosen first and middle name in many university systems including HUB, UBLearns, HR and the on-line Directory as well as add their gender identity.
Students also have the ability to add their pronouns in HUB.

Reporting discrimination is considered a "protected activity" by law. That means that no one can take action against a person for reporting discrimination or participating as a witness in an investigation. Contact EDI if you have any concerns about possible retaliation.
