Unlinking Your UB Email and X (formerly known as Twitter) Accounts
Even after you complete the instructions below, it may take up to four days for the changes to take effect.
X (formerly known as Twitter) allows you to turn off the setting Let others find me by my email address. Deselecting this option will prevent Outlook.com and anyone else from finding your X account by your email address.
Instructions
Using a Web Browser
- Go to the X account settings page
- Sign in, if you aren't already
- Select Account from the left hand Settings list
- Under your Email address, clear the checkbox next to “Let others find me by my email address”
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the Account Settings Page
App on Your Smartphone or Tablet
- Go to the Settings app on your tablet or smartphone
- Select X from the list of settings
- Select the account associated with your @buffalo.edu email address
- Turn off the selection of “Find Me By Email” in the settings list
