UB Stampede Buses and Shuttles Are Campus Essentials

UB's Stampede buses and shuttles are essential parts of the university's transportation system. All UB students, faculty and staff can ride the free Stampede buses and shuttles to get around on campus, between campuses and to off campus locations.
Chris Austin, director of Parking and Transportation Services, says "The 28 Stampede buses move between 14,000 and 15,000 student passengers each weekday they run."
Austin adds "The UB fleet — which also includes 15 shuttles — travels about 1 million miles each year, transporting more than 2.5 million passengers within those million miles."
Passengers can even even track the Stampede buses and shuttles to determine when they will arrive. Austin says "If you download the UB mobile app, there is the 'transport tab.' Click on the transportation tracker, which gives you the ability to pull up the UB Stampede and the campus shuttles. Pick the route you're looking for and see a Google map where that bus or shuttle is located."
UB's transportation system has received positive reviews from the campus community. Brian Brown, a sophomore computer science major from Long Island says "It's definitely useful, especially being someone who doesn't have a car...So having the ability to go off campus really helps, even if it's just on the weekends. That's all you really need."
