These faculty research grants of up to $5,000 support scholarly research or creative work on important global/international topics.
The UB Office of International Education (OIE) offers these grants on a competitive basis.
The fund (up to $5,000) will be transferred to the PI’s home department and has to be expended normally within one year after the start of the research project.
Any tenure-track (pre-tenure and tenured), clinical or research faculty who conduct research or creative work on important global/international topics are eligible to apply.
To apply for a grant, please submit the following:
Applicants must submit all required documents as separate files (PDF or WORD) to the OIE submission site. Grants are awarded twice a year, and the application deadlines are at the close of business (5:00 pm) on February 28 and September 30.
Applications will be evaluated by a UB faculty committee convened by the OIE. Applicants will be notified of their funding decision normally within a month of the deadline.
The awardee is required to submit a summary report of no more than 500 words within a month of the conclusion of the project. The summary report should be submitted to the Office of International Education at OIEgrants@buffalo.edu. Failure to submit the summary report in time may make the awardee ineligible for future OIE grants.
