The 2021 Fall Interprofessional Forum brought together over 900 UB health professions students from fourteen different health professions programs to learn about the importance of collaboration among health professionals and the significance of considering the social determinants of health to provide optimal care to achieve improved health outcomes.
Students completed individual online coursework that consisted of online learning about interprofessional collaborative practice and about the social determinants of health. Then the students got into small group discussions to gain a broader perspective about the importance of the social determinants of health and how they impact the provision of healthcare and health outcomes, as well as the importance of a team approach to caring for patients/clients.
The 2021 Interprofessional Fall Forum -Confronting Social Determinants of Health: An Interprofessional Strategy, was held virtually on Thursday, November 4, 2021.
