All retirement benefit applications and processing is done direclty with your retirement system.
New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS)
Teachers' Retirement System (TRS)
SUNY Optional Retirement Program (ORP)
File With The University at Buffalo
You will need to submit your notice of retirement to the university:
- Provide your notice to your supervisor/department AND
- Provide your notice to Benefit Services
Your application for retirement benefits with your retirement system does not constitute a notice of retirement to the university.
Your notice is considered a final committment to retire and cannot be rescinded. Contact Benefit Services if you have questions before submitting your notice.
