Contributions to this fund will support programmatic initiatives that benefit GSE students, faculty and staff, as well as outside communities.
Established in 2020, the Equity, Diversity, Justice and Inclusion (EDJI) Fund supports guest speakers, workshops, consultants, professional development, and other transformative initiatives.
For example, the fund will support programs like the Teach-In for Racial Equity, a two-day virtual event that featured 80-plus sessions exploring systematic racism and violence against Black people.
The Graduate School of Education is deeply committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and socially just community. We seek to provide students, faculty, and staff with the awareness, knowledge, and skills to be effective and culturally competent teachers, counselors, librarians and information specialists, administrators, and leaders within their profession and the surrounding Buffalo community — but we cannot do this work alone. We depend on alumni, friends, allies, community members, and corporate sponsors to further this work.
Together, we can help to address and dismantle both individual ideology and institutional structures that contribute to continued and persistent inequality in our schools, and injustice within society at large.
