Leadership & Development Foundations Micro-Credential
The Leadership & Development Foundations Micro-Credential program offers recognition for the skills you develop during jobs, internships, and experiential learning opportunities through a series of digital badges. This program aligns your experiential learning with NACE Career Competencies, ensuring you acquire essential skills for your future career, such as communication, teamwork, professionalism, and leadership.
Students who complete all three digital badges will earn the Leadership & Development Foundations Achievement Digital Badge, which recognizes completion of the full program.

Our Collaborator Digital Badge is one of the digital badges in the Leadership & Development Foundations Micro-Credential. This badge is open to undergraduate and graduate students of any major and is presented as a not-for-credit and hybrid learning experience.
Digital Badge Requirements
The first step in obtaining the Collaborator Digital Badge is meeting with a Student Engagement Ambassador (SEA) who will walk you through the program requirements.
To earn this digital badge, you must complete the following requirements...
- Lead a group project at work or in class
- Join or start a student club
- Create a LinkedIn profile and attend a Career Design Center workshop to optimize it
- Write and post a substantial thought piece on social media (like Facebook or LinkedIn)
After completing these requirements, you will be asked to submit the following information in a form on UBLinked:
- Completed supervisor verification form
- Copy of the thought piece
- 1-page reflection paper (prompt available on UBLinked)
Once you submit your reflection, you will schedule a final appointment with a Student Engagement Ambassador to review your personal leadership reflection and complete the post-experience assessment.

Our Growth Mindset Digital Badge is one of the digital badges in the Leadership & Development Foundations Micro-Credential. This digital badge is open to undergraduate and graduate students of any major and is presented as a not-for-credit and hybrid learning experience.

The first step in obtaining the Growth Mindset Digital Badge is meeting with a Student Engagement Ambassador (SEA) who will walk you through the program requirements.
To earn this digital badge, you must complete the following requirements...
- Take on a leadership role in a club or organization
- Have your resume reviewed and a mock interview appointment with Career Design Center
- Attend both a DISC and one other Student Engagement Workshop of your choosing that relates to work ethic, leadership, or career management
After completing these requirements, you will be asked to submit the following information in a form on UBLinked:
- Completed supervisor verification form
- Final reviewed resume
- 1-page reflection paper (prompt available on UBLinked)
Once you submit your reflection, you will schedule a final appointment with a Student Engagement Ambassador to review your personal leadership reflection and complete the post-experience assessment.

Our Change Agent Digital Badge is one of the digital badges in the Leadership & Development Foundations Micro-Credential. This digital badge is open to undergraduate and graduate students of any major and is presented as a not-for-credit and hybrid learning experience.

The first step in obtaining the Change Agent Digital Badge is meeting with a Student Engagement Ambassador (SEA) who will walk you through the program requirements.
To earn this digital badge, you must participate in one of the following programs:
- Next Level Leadership Mentorship Program
- Diversity Zone Training
- Alternative Break experience
- Student Leadership International Dialogue and Exchange (SLIDE)
After completing these requirements, you will be asked to submit the following information in a form on UBLinked:
- Completed supervisor verification form
- 1-page reflection paper (prompt available on UBLinked)

When to Apply
- Positions are posted on the Career Design Center (Bullseye powered by Handshake) website on a rolling basis throughout the year, with the majority of positions being posted in the fall semester. Simply use the "on campus employment" filter to narrow your search.
- New students: once you have paid your admissions deposit, a Bullseye powered by Handshake account will automatically be created for you with your UBITName by the Career Design Center. Login using your UBITName to begin your search process.
Sign into Bullseye powered by Handshake. You can search, see qualifications and apply to on-campus jobs/internships that are posted every day. It's that easy!

- Student Assistant: Open to any eligible* student.
- Work Study: For U.S. citizens and permanent residents only. Students must receive financial aid indicating work study eligibility to be considered for these positions.
- Graduate/Research/Teaching Assistants: Typically reserved for eligible* graduate/doctoral students and may or may not relate to the area of study. These positions are limited in number and are very competitive.
- Internship: Students gain practical experience, sometimes with pay or while earning academic credit.
