To avoid a gap in insurance coverage, students who need a health insurance plan that begins on 8/1/2024, should enroll between 6/16/2024-7/15/2024. We strongly recommend that you start your Marketplace application before the enrollment window opens. You can complete the steps up until “Enroll & Select a Plan” in advance of the enrollment timeframe.
TIP: On your Marketplace application, when asked if you have health coverage, select "No" if you are currently enrolled in the UB domestic student health plan as it will be no longer available at the end of the current policy year which ends on 7/31/2024.
You will need to gather information prior to beginning the application. Having this information ready will help you fill out your application faster.
The online Marketplace application will take approximately 1 hour to complete, if you have all the information needed.
