Chat with a Group in Jabber

1. Start a group chat from your Roster by selecting multiple contacts or a Roster group and choosing Start Group Chat from the context menu.

• You can also start a group chat from an existing message at any time by expanding the options in the conversational window. Select Open Roster and choose Add People.

2. Messages in the existing conversation are not transferred to the new Group Chat, it will open as a new conversation.

3. From within a group chat, you can invite additional participants. If someone leaves the group chat, they must be invited back in.

4. When the last person leaves the group chat, the room is closed automatically.

• On Jabber for Desktop, Chats settings allow you to choose if Jabber will accept and join group chats automatically for you, or if you should be prompted.
• Jabber Mobile devices will always prompt.
