Undergraduate Students

Registering for next semester’s classes on the day of your enrollment appointment helps you get the classes and class times you need to stay on track toward timely graduation, remain eligible for financial aid and avoid registration late fees. Here’s how to prepare for registration.

Resolve Any Registration Holds

Visit your HUB Student Center to ensure any holds blocking you from registering are resolved.

Holds May Prevent Action

A hold is an action used by the university to prevent students from registering for or resigning from classes, receiving grades, and/or releasing student records, including diplomas, enrollment certification or transcripts until the reason for the hold has been resolved with the office that placed it.

Know When to Register for Classes

You are assigned a specific date and time to begin registering in HUB. View your enrollment appointment in your HUB Student Center, Manage Classes tile and mark this on your calendar.

Schedule an Advisement Appointment

To review your plan for next year and get all your questions answered, schedule an appointment with your academic advisor through the Navigate app well in advance of your enrollment date. Your advisor will help you explore your major, understand requirements, and review your plan for next semester.

Plan Your Schedule

Use Schedule Builder and shopping cart to search for courses and plan your schedule. You can also import classes directly from your Planner. It is best to begin by adding courses to your shopping cart on the day of your enrollment appointment; you don't have to wait until you know your completed schedule.

Register On Time in HUB

On your assigned enrollment date, register for classes in HUB. For best class selection, register as soon as your enrollment appointment opens.

Additional Tips for a Successful Registration

Before and During Registration

  • Be mindful of registration dates and deadlines.
  • Pay attention if you receive error reports when enrolling, and seek help if you have questions.
  • Be sure to click the “Finish Enrolling” button and view your results.
  • Review your schedule after completing the registration process to ensure it aligns with your academic goals and commitments.
  • Avoid class time conflicts. Allow one hour travel time between North and South campuses, and at least 30 minutes travel time between the North Campus Spine and Ellicott Complex. Course instructors may refuse students entrance into the classroom after the start of the class.
  • Repeating a course can impact financial aid, academic standing and other factors. Students planning to repeat a course should review the repeat policy to understand the academic impacts. Failing and repeating courses may impact your financial aid eligibility. Discuss the impacts of repeating courses with a financial aid advisor.

Making Changes to Your Schedule

  • You may register for courses and make changes to your class schedule at any time between the start of the enrollment appointment through the end of the drop/add period for that session.
  • Whenever you make changes to your schedule, you should verify the changes have been processed.
  • If you need to adjust your schedule, be aware of continued eligibility requirements for state and federal financial aid and the registration deadline dates associated with Adding, Dropping and Resigning Courses.

Before Classes Begin

  • Check your schedule for last-minute changes, including room location changes.
